Aotearoa gave us the environment that put art in our bloodlines. Instinctively we grew skills to fashion images of what we saw, oratory and song to mimic what we heard, dance to reflect the race of the movement in the wind and the tide- no wonder our arts came to lead us to our greatest triumph: the survival of our precious culture.
